I had always dreamed about owning a big blue Standard Poodle. When I was phoned unexpectedly one day and told that the male pick of the litter was available, I was ecstatic!
They say falling in love on the internet is not wise and often fizzles out. However, one look at Sting as a five week old puppy proved it was love at first sight! Two weeks later I was at the airport an hour early, waiting for my Poodle to arrive.
Sting has been everything I have ever dreamed for in a Poodle and so much more. Apart from being the handsome boy he is, his temperament, I would say, tops his looks!!! Wherever I go with him people stop me in the street, at the beach, at flea-markets, on walks and, of course, at shows. There is something very special about him - his charisma and charm is very unique and very endearing to all.
He communicates with me vocally - a special bass sound he generates from deep down without opening his mouth. He likes to “sing” for me on command too, especially at supper time!
Sting's sire is Ch. Sunbrilliant Arctic Tern "Kane", who was sired by the Browning's beautiful UK import Vulcan Private Eye and half brother to the famous "Gladiator" belonging to Theresa Swanepoel. On the dam's side, his grandfather is "Oliver", Ch & Int Ch Sarbraes Trelarken Odin and the grandmother was the BISS winner Ch Braganza Blew Into Town.
Sting's pedigree is a 'who's who' of all the best Standard Poodle sires imported into South Africa and the fact that he is a really good blue makes it all the more satisfying as it is difficult to breed good blues and silvers.
Sting reached champion status in October 2009 at under 3 years.
